Some recent shots from outside my house in Asheville. We've been seeing quite a lot of these guys around these days. They seem to particularly enjoy my watermelons, my pepper plant, and the local furniture.
Wait a minute, is that praying mantis the size of a squirrel or is it a trick of perspective? Because I would not be able to sleep at night knowing those things were out there. Makes the whole biting heads off before mating thing even scarier.
