Apparently, the really cool old English guy that sold the vegetable peelers in Union Square (NYC) has died. If you have ever seen him, you know who I'm talking about.
That's horrible. I last saw him peel carrots a few months ago, maybe in January? He certainly captured the crowd. People would stand there mesmerized, always willing to give this guy their precious, fleeting New York minutes. I must have watched him at least two dozen times, and although I was often tempted to buy a carrot peeler I regrettably never did. John Ades, a fine artist and businessman.
